Why Bother? How The Worst Pickup Line of My Life Changed My Financial Future and How It Can Change Yours Too

This book was written in reaction to the market crash of 2008, but it is timeless, since many people take the approach that there’s nothing I can do to change my financial life. They feel they live paycheck to paycheck, or they feel their credit is so terrible there is nothing they can do. This book proves there is always something you can do.

Praise for Peter Bielagus and Why Bother?

i loved this book for 3 reasons.

1) i am an idiot when it comes to dealing with the world of finances. it is very easy to get overwhelmed with all the mumbo jumbo and advise that all seems to tell you to do something different. peter has a way of presenting information in a straightforward, easy to understand way that can make even the most novice student feel confident about managing her money.

2) it is easy to feel frustrated in the current economic climate and feel like there is no point in investing in your future or trying to save to buy a house, etc. peter very clearly explains how this is a bad idea. he outlines ways to budget, prioritize, and save that will pay off in the long run even if things seem bleak. there is always something you can do!

3) the dude is hilarious. the book is entertaining and easy to read. and that is saying a lot for a subject that i usually avoid!
great book!

As a financial consultant, I talk with people all day, every day about how to save money and budget their money or lack thereof. Peter writes this realistic, down to earth book for people that find finances and budgeting boring. It's a quick read that is very informative. He eliminates all the fluff and jargon which sets the stage for practical, fun and easy ways to incorporate financial success in our everyday busy lives. If you're going to read only one book on finances, I highly recommend this quick easy read. Peter has also made himself available if you have further questions or concerns. He is truly devoted to helping not only a young audience, but all ages alike to be savvy about their money.
